In my opinion…

Learning styles are not unlike pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Each piece represents how we and others around us perceive the world and how we react to it. Until we figure out how these pieces fit together, it’s difficult for us to see a clear picture of ourselves and others around us.

Learning Styles

After considerable research, I have come to the conclusion that what may begin as theoretical, quickly changes into an acceptance of the fact that all people perceive things very differently. Therefore, it stands to reason that only when people reach this level of acceptance and understanding do they begin to appreciate the importance of identifying and catering to other peoples learning styles, which results in an overall improvement in the process of communication.

The Art of Communication… Just a thought

I have always been of the mind that when we verbally communicate with others, we should always bear in mind that we are given only one chance to make a lasting impression. Unlike reading, where someone can read something over and over again until it is understood, speaking is quite different. Body language is also critical. Studies have proven that 55% of the time it is physiology that makes the greatest impact during communication. So the next time you have something important to say…relax, be yourself and try to be mindful of not only what you want to say, but how you say it as well. Above all, try to remember that those whom you are communicating with are people just like you and I.
